Why have you plateaued on your weight loss journey?

It can be so frustrating when this happens.

You started with the best intentions. Adopted some healthier habits, increased water consumption, and started exercising. You were motivated!!! And then after a few weeks, your progress stops and now it won’t budge!!!

There could be a number of reasons for this but first, think back to exactly what you were doing when it was going good?!  Go back and do that 🤗

Now in my experience, balanced nutrition is THE best way for healthy, sustainable weight loss. I teach my clients to eat for HEALTH, give their body what it needs to fuel it, and then the results happen naturally.

Some top tips:-

💦 How much water are you drinking? Aim for 2-3 liters a day.

🥗 Load up on veggies to FILL YOU UP. They take up more space in your stomach, take longer to digest and alongside lean proteins, some healthy fats, and complex carbs, will keep you satisfied and stop sugar cravings.

💪🏻 PROTEIN are you reaching your daily target? As a guide, we need on average 0.8grams of protein per lb you weigh at minimum! Not hitting this target will affect your results for numerous reasons (more on this later) So as an example, a typical female weighing 150lbs needs around 120lbs of protein. If she only consumes lean protein at dinner time (ie cereal and fruit for breakfast, sandwich for lunch, crisps and fruit in the afternoon) she is protein deficient and will be hungry, suffering from cravings, energy dips, and concentration lapses, and fill not see much benefit in her physique for any exercise she is doing.

🫣 PORTION CONTROL!

This is key!!!! Come on, have you let portions gradually get bigger? Started adding unnecessary extras to snacks and Smoothies? Picked off the kid’s plates? Had a larger slice of cake? That extra serving of spaghetti????

🍷LIQUID calories such as alcohol and milky coffees (We all pretend we don’t have these!!)

💃Maybe you’ve slacked off the usual exercise… missed a class? A gym session? Not got up early enough for that walk or jog?- No brainer- calories in VS calories out…

If you have let the above habits slip in and have missed a day of exercise here and there, the compounded effect can be weight gain, despite how “good” you think you are being.

All these things add up to what can be an extra 500+ cals a day without you even realising it!!
